HEAT the butter, powdered sugar, & Spero Sunflower Cream Cheesein a large sauce pot over medium heat until the butter melts. *Don't let the mixture boil or burn!
STIR constantly until smooth, then remove from heat & stir in the peppermint extract & crushed candy canes, leaving some to the side to garnish on top at the end.
TRANSFER immediately to the prepared dish & chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour or overnight until set & ready to serve.
